South Side Coalition aims to combat structural racism’s root causes with new funding
admin2021-04-27T23:18:02+00:00A coalition of South Side hospitals, health clinics and faith and community groups hopes to strike at the heart of health care’s structural racism by expanding and reassembling its infrastructure. The coalition is seeking part of the $150 million in federal and state dollars to fund its proposed South Side Health Transformation Project, which aims to upend a health care infrastructure that stifles access to primary and secondary care for 400,000 South Siders — at least 60 percent of whom leave their neighbor- hoods to get medical care. – Chicago Sun-Times
